Today I spent most of the day cleaning out the disaster that was my
closet. After filling, and I'm almost embarrassed to say this, seven
garbage bags, I looked in the closet and it looked so much better. It was
so empty and clean. Ready to be organized and filled with new, more
exciting things. Afterwards I took a bath. I've found out that the
bathtub is the only place I can really think about things in peace. Most
of the time anyway. Today I was thinking about how much better
I felt knowing there was so much space in my closet and how much nicer
it looks with all of my scarves hung neatly as well as other clothes
I've decided to hang. Then I got to thinking that's probably how God
feels when we finally clear out all the junk in our lives and make room
for Him!! Purging and throwing away all the sins, temptations, unclean
and ungodly things we do, and making a whole new clean, fresh space for
Him. That's my main goal for this year. To get rid of all the junk in my
life and making more room for my loving, patient, and gracious God!!

Emily

Vlogging!!
Years ago when YouTube was pretty new and Vlogging was even newer I had a channel and several times a week I would upload videos of our many adventures we would have. Life kinda got in the way and I eventually closed the channel. Over the past few weeks I've been thinking and praying about starting up a vlog channel again. So, last night I took the plunge. I edited and uploaded our first vlog!! It's short but hey, it's a start!!

Feeling Overwhelmed and Toddler Meltdowns
These last few days have been very trying for me. Normally my kids are
very easy going. Even on days when they are cranky or just having a bad
day. I'm not sure exactly what's been going on with my youngest son,
Landon, but he has been all out of sorts the last few days and today
when he had meltdown #9,000 I felt like I was at my breaking point. So, I
just sat down on the couch, held him, and prayed for God's strength. I
prayed God would take whatever pain or illness from Landon
that was causing him to be so grouchy and down right mean. I prayed God
would just give it to me instead, which I often pray when I know my
boys aren't feeling so well. Finally this evening he settled down a lot.
He was like a completely different kid. There were no meltdowns, no
crying, and he ate a really good supper. I just handed it over to God
and let Him take care of it while I did the only thing I knew to do.
Hold my little love and pray.

Who am I?
Hello Everyone,
My name is Emily I'm 31 year old. I was born and raised in a small little farm community in Southern Ohio. I grew up going to church and loving the Lord. When I was 19 I married my husband Kevin. We now have three sons. Christian, who is nearly 10, Aiden, who is nearly six, and Landon who is almost 2.
I home school our two oldest boys which, at times, can be quite challenging. Homeschooling was something we felt God was leading us to do. We were not happy with a lot of things going on in our local school district and I felt long before I had children that I wanted to home school. At first my family was not on board with it. But, now that we've been homeschooling for 3 years they have seen what a huge difference it has made and how much my boys are truly getting from it.
I also really love to cook and bake. I really enjoy cooking for my family and friends and watching them enjoy something I've put a lot of time and effort into. I never really liked baking until a few years ago. I started dabbling a bit in cake decorating. Pretty soon friends and family started ordering cakes from me. I don't get a lot of orders, but from time to time I do and it's really a lot of fun!! I have a cooking channel on YouTube as well as another blog that goes along with my channel. It's called TheCountryCook. I will share the links down below if you would like to check it out!!
God has been so good to me. My family has went through our fair share of struggles over the last few years. But God always provided for us. He never let us down. I have put my boys in God's hands and pray they grow up always loving Him and wanting to live for Him. To be His light in this dark, messy world!!
I hope that anyone who reads this will follow me and my journey in raising three ornery little boys!! I'm quite new to this blogging thing and I'd love to have support from other Mommy Bloggers. I hope you all are well and blessed!!

Emily

Holding a Grudge is Too Much Work!!
The
worst thing we can do is hold a grudge against someone. It's not healthy
for us at all. If we have hate and anger towards people that just makes
us ugly and hard hearted. We need to look at our own lives and our own
actions and see if that's what played a roll in a person doing wrong
towards us. I've been told I'm too easily forgiving. I can't agree with
that. I forgive because I love. It doesn't
matter what a person has done to me, I love them and forgive them
because God is good enough to love me and forgive me when I fall. If
there are people in your life who treat you badly or don't add anything
positive to your life, distance yourself from them. I don't agree with
completely leaving them in the dark and never speaking to them again.
You should pray for them, smooth things over, let them know that you've
forgiven them and that no matter what, you love them!! It takes more
energy to hate and be angry at someone than it does to just simply love
and forgive them!!
Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Why Do We Have To Go Through Things That Seem So Hard?
Sometimes
things happen in our lives that we just don't understand. From the
moment it happens until the day we die we may never know the reason. No
matter how happy, sad, good, or tragic something is God deserves all the
glory. He knew long before we were born what we would go through in
life. It's not our job to question Him, but to give Him glory and have
faith that He will guide our paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Be an Encouragement to the Ones You Love!
I
feel it's so important to build up the ones around us. To encourage them
in the things they do. Whether it be in their jobs, schooling,
projects, just goofing around with a video game. I believe it really
helps a person to want to do a better job and have more confidence in
what they are doing. I try to daily build my children up. Even if it's
something silly Christian is building out of Legos, I
root him on so to speak. Especially with homeschooling. They need that
extra support to be able to keep the faith in themselves that though
they may be struggling with understanding something now, eventually they
will get it and it will be so easy! I'm not always a positive person
and I struggle with that at times. Especially with things that have to
do with me and what I'm doing at the time. I'm easily discouraged I
think. I'm thankful to have such a supportive, loving family and friends
who lift my spirits and don't let me give up when I feel like I should.

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

How to "deal" with Heavy Burden.
Sometimes
we feel a heavy burden, everything seems so hard. We may be going
through things in our lives that no one around us understands. That's
the perfect time to take rest in Jesus. To lay everything at His feet
and let Him take over. Put on His yoke and let Him help carry our
burdens. That's what He wants us to do!!
Matthew 11:28-30
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light
